The European Defence Agency has been created to help EU Member States develop their defence capabilities for crisis-management operations under the European Security and Defence Policy. The Agency will achieve its goals by: * Encouraging EU governments to spend defence budgets on meeting tomorrow’s challenges, not yesterday’s threats; * Helping them to identify common needs and promoting collaboration to provide common solutions. The Agency’s success will mean: * Better military capabilities; * Stronger European defence industries; * Better value for European taxpayers. Related Conferences, Workshops or EventsChallenge minidrones 2007-2009On September 15, 2005 was held the first "International University Mini-UAVs Challenge" in the military base of Mourmelon, France.
This contest was organised by ONERA. The French DGA launched the 2nd edition of this competition. Based on the objectives of the first edition, it is dedicated to French and international students. Technical and financial support is provided. The final test flights will take place on May 12 & 13, 2009. A press conference and the award ceremony will take place on May 26, 2009 in Meudon, France. 7th European Micro Air Vehicles Conference and Flight Competition The twin events were designed to foster micro air vehicles key technologies and to identify what state-of-the-art technologies are needed to further enhance the performance of today's micro air vehicles. The event was unclassified and consisted of a conference and a flight competition. It was opened to institutions and persons from any country. The objective of the conference was to provide an effective and established forum for discussion and dissemination of original and recent advances in MAV technology. Its aim was to allow leading edge researchers and developers in a wide variety of areas concerned with MAV technology and applications to present their results. |
